Statement of Beliefs

God

We believe that there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) eternally existing in three persons (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14): the Father, the Son (Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 2:9), and the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17, Acts 5:3-4).

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory (Philippians 2:5-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth (1 Corinthians 12:13) in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life (1 Corinthians 2:10-13).

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God's written revelation to man (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and that it is inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts (Isaiah 40:8).

Sin

We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27-28), but, being tempted by Satan, man willfully sinned, bringing spiritual and physical death (Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3). Humanity is now alienated from God, living in willful rebellion (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 1:21-25), and because of this, is under divine wrath (Romans 3:10-12; Ephesians 2:3).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ, not by human effort (Ephesians 2:4-9). We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). God imputed the guilt of our sins to Christ (Romans 3:25), and He, in our place, bore the punishment that we deserve (Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 53:12; Galatians 3:13). This was a full payment for sins, which satisfied both the wrath and the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21), so that He could forgive sinners without compromising His own holy standard.

Heaven and Hell

We believe that people were created by God to exist eternally (John 17:3; Romans 6:23). We believe that Heaven and Hell are real and eternal realities. Hell is being in eternal absence of the grace and mercy of God. Heaven is being in eternal union with God. (Matthew 7:21-23; Matthew 25:31-41)

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe marriage is a sacred, lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6), designed by God to reflect Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:31-32). Sexual activity is reserved exclusively for marriage, and any distortion of that design is outside of God's will (Romans 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). We adhere to the Nashville Statement on human sexuality.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23; Revelation 19:7) and is made up of all born-again believers (1 Corinthians 6:11). We believe that the local church is God's primary vessel both for mission and discipleship (Ephesians 3:10-11). We believe that all followers of Christ are called to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and belong to a local church, exercising their gifts in biblical community (Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27).
